Descrição:
Na verdade existem três
espécies muito parecidas: O "verdadeiro" Rodóstomo de Belém (Hemigrammus Rhodostomus), e dois "falsos" Rodóstomos de Manaus (Hemigrammus Bleheri
e Petitella Georgiae).
As diferenças são: o tamanho
da mancha vermelha e das listras na cauda.
Curiosamente, o verdadeiro é o
menos colorido dos três, mas também é o mais resistente.
São mais sensíveis que os outros Tetras. São por vezes extremamente
tímidos, mas se estiverem saudáveis e confiantes são óptimos peixes para
se ter no aquário comunitário ou biótopo amazónico.

Dimorfismo sexual: As fêmeas tem o corpo muito mais cheio que os machos, seu tamanho em
relação ao macho é um pouco menor com o ventre mais volumoso.

Actually there are three very similar species: The "real" Rodóstomo of Bethlehem (Hemigrammus rhodostomus), and two "false" Rodóstomos Manaus (Hemigrammus bleheri and Petitella Georgiae).
The differences are : the size of the stain and red stripes on the tail.
Interestingly , the reverse is the least colorful of the three, but it is also the toughest.
Are more sensitive than others Tetras. They are sometimes very shy, but if they are healthy and confident are great fish to have in the community tank or biotope Amazon.
